Mix Flour chocolate cupcakes

Preparation time: 15 minutes (Oven preheat time: 35minutes)

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Makes 16 cupcakes

Health quotient: Goodness of buckwheat, finger millet and whole wheat


Group A

  1. Whole wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Buckwheat flour 1/4cup
  3. Finger millet flour 1/4cup
  4. Cocoa powder 2tbspn
    (I use Hintz cocoa powder as it gives the best flavor)
  5. Baking soda 1/2 tspn
  6. Baking Powder 1 tspn

Group B

  1. Milk 1/2cup
  2. Oil 1/4cup
  3. Sugar 5cup

Group C

  1. Boiling water 1 cup
  2. Coffee powder 1 tspn



  1. Preheat the oven for 35 minutes at 175 degree celsius
  2. Take a large bowl and whisk Group A ingredients together

  3. In a separate bowl mix Group B ingredients together till sugar is dissolved

    Group B Wet ingredients and Sugar
    Group B Wet ingredients and Sugar
  4. Mix Group C ingredients in a mug/cup
  5. Whisk together all the three mixtures
  6. Note that the batter will be quite runny. This will ensure light cupcakes
  7. Fill the cupcake liners with the batter up to 3/4 of the liner
  8. Bake for 20 minutes and check for doneness by inserting the toothpick. It should come out clean.
  9. Take out the cupcakes and let them cool for 30 minutes
  10. You can use any frosting of your liking once they are cooled down completely
